Fifth edition of this lovely book by George Rooper with illustrations by Bowers and Carlisle. The book is divided into four sections; Autobiography of the late Salmo Salar Esq., A Fox's Tale, Bolsover Forest and The Bagman. From a fisherman's point of view only the first, an imaginary salmon recounting his life's ups and downs, is of direct interest but the whole book is full of observations and anecdotes which ring true with any naturalist. In well used condition, rubbed and chipped this is still a delightful read.
