THE SALMON by A Russel
First edition, published in 1864 by Edmonston and Douglas. Half black morocco binding with two bookplates teg. One bookplate is of the library of the Chicago Natural History Museum and there are various stamps and impressions in the opening pages. Externally a little bumped and worn but the binding is tight. The spine has raised bands with gilt titles and decorations. The book itself deals with the salmon from a Natural History angle, it's demise and the causes, and concludes with chapters on legislative and non legislative remedies.
